Benchmark Plumbing specializes in troubleshooting, whether that’s fixing a leak or rodding out a clogged pipe, or installing a new water heater and carting away the old fixtures. We don’t do new construction, not because we can’t, but because it’s not our focus. We prefer the personal interaction with homeowners, the problem solving, and the satisfaction of a job well done.

I’m Jamy Mendez, the owner-operator of Benchmark Plumbing and Rodding. We serve the whole Chicago area and the South Suburbs, about a 50-mile radius from Manteno, Illinois.

For 15 years, I worked as a subcontractor, and I saw a lot of waste and overcharging. I thought, I can do this better and cheaper on my own, and I’ve been serving clients directly ever since. Most of my business comes from word of mouth, and most of my clients are individual homeowners, though I do also work for a couple major nationwide home warranty companies. They think enough of the quality of the work I do and the value for their dollar that they recommend me to policyholders in this area. I also do work for Faith Management Company, a large property management firm located in this area.
